A couple months ago Al and I set off on a find one Sunday morning. We were both in the mood to find that something special at a garage sale. We have never had good luck on Sundays. We end up finding signs but no sale. This ended up being a typical Sunday until we found an ugly desk by the curb. It was just screaming to me to take it. So of course I did! It was a sturdy, 100% wood desk. I thought it would be perfect in our dinky house somewhere. After it sat in the garage for a couple hours with me stewing over what colors to paint I pulled out my free quarts that Gliden had sent about 6 months ago. I decided Fresh Guacamole was just the color this desk needed. With a quick sand down, paint and distress the desk was looking fab.

I then moved our garage sale $2 chalk board above it and added some caute magnets from Rod Works (my new favorite store in Vegas).

I put these boxes on top to fill with my crafting goods. Also found at a garage sale for $1.00.

There you have it. The desk and paint were free. The accessories I paid for but at different times so they don't count. I LOVE my craft corner. I have dreams (because I don't make the time) of creating and sewing on this desk. Some day I will do it! Right now it's good for paying bills, playing on the computer and just sitting and thinking about creating.
*My $14 chair makeover to follow tomorrow!

Ooh - LOVE what you've done with the desk...we're also into trash to treasure finds. Wait until you see the new (err, gently used) nursery furniture!
Thanks for sharing;)
Love,
Kacy
