A new sister

The girls love their new baby sister. They both want to hold her a lot and cuddle. Landree woke up early yesterday and laid and cuddled with Lauryn. She was so gentle. They really have been really good with her. We are getting all kinds of questions like, "How did she get out of your belly?", "What's on her belly button?", "Does she have any teeth yet?".
Lily thinks she drinks from my belly, I guess because my boobs hang down so low. So she always giggles when I'm feeding her and says, "She's drinking from your belly!" It's cute but not so flattering. They are getting excited to play with her. I can't wait to see the 3 of them playing together.

Big Day!

Well tonight is it! I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 to start the inducing. Wish me luck! I am actually really nervous. I don't know what to expect plus a little scared for the pain of labor. I am excited to not be pregnant though and to have the baby finally here. I will call everyone or email as soon as possible. It will most likely be in the morning. I am not sure how fast the whole process will go tonight. I think it depends on how soon they break my water, etc. Thank you Sarah and Lesley for the comments. I needed to hear from someone that has been induced before!

Sunday Tourists!

Since Al's Mom is in town we decided to be tourists. We went down to the Bellagio Atrium to see the flowers, MGM to see the lions and then we went to M&M World to see the 3-D show and look at the M&M merchandise.

Balloonapalooza

We went to the 3rd annual Balloonapalooza at Craig Ranch Golf Course. It is within 2miles of our house. Basically it's a 3 day festival around hot air balloons. I LOVE hot air balloons. The town I am from in Iowa, Indianola, holds the National Balloon Classic every August. It is very fun, my family always has chased the balloons or been involved somehow. The August before my senior year I was lucky enough to go for a long morning ride with a balloonist. It was an amazing experience. Something I can say Al has never done! Here are the pics from the festival.

Sorry I didn't realize the only pictures I had were of us eating snow cones and hanging out! We also watched fireworks, the girls rode a ride, and visited with friends.

Olivia's Tea Room~ Katie's 5th Birthday Party

Landree and Lily's friend, Katie, had her 5th birthday party at a here called Olivia's Tea Room. The girls all got to dress-up in any gown, went through a chest of jewelry, get their hair done, have make-up on and have their finger nails polished. They then had a fashion show and tea party. It was great fun! Katie's Mom, Shauna, plans the best parties for her kids. The pictures turned out great. Shauna, thank you for inviting both girls to the party. They had a great time!

Last Doctor's Appointment

We scheduled inducing for Tuesday night at 7:30. I think what they do is just give you pitocin and let you start contracting overnight. So she will probably be here Wednesday morning. If any of you have been induced please let me know how it went. I heard the whole process is much worse than just going into labor naturally. Let's just pray that happens in the next couple days! I will keep you all updated. We have our laptop ready to take to the hospital to get pics out as soon as possible (as long as they are wireless- Are hospitals wireless nowadays?)

Our Star~ Landree

We got an "official" letter sent home with Landree yesterday. It said, "Congratulations, your daughter has been chosen by her teacher to receive the Citizenship Award for Aggie-Roberts." Basically she showed the "Skills for Success". I cannot tell you how PROUD I am as a mother. It feels like our parenting has paid off or is paying off. I am even tearing up now! There is an awards ceremony next Thursday so I will be posting pictures. Al's mom, Ginny, arrives tonight through the 29th so she will be here for it, which will make it even more special. WAY TO GO LANDREE!!

The Park

We took the girls to the park this morning to get some exercise and let them play before all the football games started. So here are some pictures from this morning. As you can tell our weather is still warm. It was supposed to get up to 100 today. We also took the top off of the jeep. We all really enjoyed that especially Al.

Funny Homework

We were working on Landree's homework this afternoon. One of the pages was: I would like to learn __________ in school. I read it to Landree and said, "I would like to learn blank in school." She came back and said, "I already know how to blink" and was blinking her eyes. It was funny! I guess she didn't know what I meant by "blank".

Patience

Patience
Noun
1. the capacity for calmly enduring difficult situations
2. the ability to wait calmly for something to happen without complaining or giving up

THIS IS THE LOOK OF NO PATIENCE!!
5 more days until due date...here's a picture for all of you wanting to see my big belly!

Daisy's

Landree's first night of Daisy Girl Scouts was last night. She joined a troop with friends, Katie & Madison. The troop meets every other Thursday night. I think it will be a lot of fun for her. Last night they did 3 different craft projects and then sang in a friendship circle the Girl Scout Friendship song. They work on the same things as Girl Scouts like, fundraising (cookies & nuts), patches, and projects. I don't know the extent of the "outings" they will have but I am excited to get involved. I was a Girl Scout in elementary school and remember the campouts, horseback riding, and just plain fun.

Doctor Appointment

Well I just got back from the doctor. I am dilated to about a 2 and he said he felt a fluid filled sac right above my cervix. He basically said he wouldn't be surprised if my water broke today. He was joking around about covering the seats if we have a new car. I guess I better give Al our new jeep! I would honestly hate to deliver today- 9/11. But it makes me wonder if we will ever get beyond the date of 9/11. I understand how tragic the day was...7 years ago, but I don't think I can handle more years of memorial services. Sorry if I sound heartless, but come on. I wonder how long it took for the country to really get over D-Day or Dec. 7th the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I don't think about the days when they pass over but I am sure the ones involved in the attack never forget or will never forget. Me ranting... Let's just pray this baby comes out healthy whenever she is ready to.

Dentist

The girls had their first dental appointment this morning. It went really well. The office is amazing. If you need a children's dentist in Las Vegas I highly recommend Adaven. Thanks for the referral Shauna!
Both girls have great teeth. No cavities- yeah! They both had x-rays taken, cleaning, & Landree had a fluoride treatment. Landree the whole time kept saying, "Is it going to hurt?" The hygienist and the dentist have amazing patience. I would have strapped her down by the 2nd "Is it going to hurt?".
Lily took most of the pictures so enjoy.
Of course they went home with new toothbrushes, floss, toys, and stickers.

Catch up (kind of sounds like Ketchup)

Happy Birthday Lisa! If I could have this baby today for your birthday I would- not feeling it though...darn.
We have had a pretty non-eventful week. I spoke to Landree's teacher today and she said she has improved 500%. She said she still talks (I think she gets that from Al) but is doing much better. Yesterday she had the best coloring and won a Highlight sticker/color book. She was very excited about that. She still looks forward to going to school everyday and I hope that continues. Last week and this week the class wears a color for the day. Today was black, tomorrow purple and Friday is white/grey. I wish this could continue for the rest of the year. I have had no battles in the mornings about what she wants to wear! On the other hand, Lily gives me grief every morning. It's always a dress and it always has to be one that twirls. She has a closet full of clothes and I'm limited to about 5 dresses, drives me crazy!
I have one more girl to deal with dressing. At least I will be able to dress this little one how I want until she's about 2 1/2. Then I start all over again.
10 more days....hopefully sooner but definitely counting down.

Week 2

Last night was Aggie-Roberts Open House (Landree's school). They had a short assembly and introduced the teachers and staff. The 5th grade choir sang and all the kids got up and did the Roberts Roadrunner song. It was really cute. We then went to Landree's classroom and got to see everything she had been doing her first week of school as well as some pictures the teacher had taken. Landree showed us the library and we met the librarian and the art teacher, Mr. Boring, whom she loves. She was so excited for open house!

Today Landree wanted hot lunch at school. So she said she had hot dogs, applesauce, carrots, and chocolate milk. She wants hot lunch again tomorrow. It's fine with us-so much easier!

Lily is the same- we call her silly Lily. This week she has been taking her backpack and lunch to Michele's just like Sissy. I ask her how old she is she always says 5 and holds up 3 fingers. She so wants to be like her big sister.

My niece, Sam, started kindergarten yesterday. I included a picture of her and my sister, Lisa. It's a great picture.

One more thing... Landree's school collects Box Tops for Education. They are on a lot of products now. Please start saving these for her school. The money all goes to a good cause, new playground equipment, computers, books, etc.. Send them to me when you get a bunch! Thanks!

School Pictures/Start of new week

I took these of Landree this morning before school. She likes to "model" and show different poses and faces but only if she is in the mood.

Labor Day Weekend

Well of course our 3 day weekend flew by! But it only means a few more days closer until we have the baby. Saturday afternoon I had 5 other ladies over to scrapbook, most of the "boys" had a fantasy football draft for the day so it worked out well. I included some pics of my pages I completed. I should have taken a picture of everyone and their "stuff" and how full my house was! I love scrapbooking I just wish I had more time and more room to complete an actual album. On Sunday we ventured to the mall to find a shirt for Landree to wear for her school pictures which are today. Yesterday Al and I went to finally see Dark Knight. What a great movie! Heath Ledger and Christian Bale both did a fabulous job. Today Lily and I are just hanging out. I have a doctors appointment this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed I am progressing, maybe even dilating!
