Fancy Nancy

Today was another dress-up day for Landree. The theme was your favorite story book character. She loves the Fancy Nancy books. I thought the outfit turned out great and she was very "fancy & fabulous"! Landree took the book to school for the teacher to read and all of the kids were so excited. This week they are also having a cooking series. Monday they made healthy snacks, Wednesday we took recipes to share for a recipe book, today we made cookies for everyone to decorate and tomorrow the kids are making ice cream sundaes-yummy!
Tonight the girls have their last swim lesson. They have improved so much. Lily swims like a fish now. She has no fear and trys hard to race and beat Landree across the pool. Landree is doing very well with the back stroke. The teacher told Al last night that she had a very nice stroke and swam very straight. I have a late patient tonight so I won't be able to go, bummer. I told Al to take lots of pictures. I will blog some tomorrow if he takes some.

Our friend Dan is in town!

Our friend, Dan Seitz, is in town for a couple days competing in a flair bartending competition at Green Valley Ranch. We stopped by last night to see him for a bit. It took us awhile to find him due to the mohawk! The girls love Dan and his wife Kacey, but she was unable to make this trip. The finals for the competion are tonight. Al and I hope to go for some adult time.

Camping in Zion National Park

We just returned from camping in Zion. We had a great time! Yesterday the girls went tubing with all of the Dad's down the river. Lily didn't make it far but Landree & her friend Katie went the whole 2 miles. It took them a little over 2 hours. Lily and I stayed back close to the campsite and played in the river and worked on our tans :) We ate great camping food and had a good time with friends.

Amazing Artwork!

Landree's absolute favorite thing to do at home, school, anywhere, is art. She is constantly drawing, coloring, painting. I picked this picture up at her school today. I am just amazed on what she comes up with. I will try to post more. She really is a little artist.

Landree's dress-up day at school

Landree's school has a fun summer session. Each week they have themes and have dress-up days, water days, etc. Today was another dress-up day and it was obviously animal day. This is a picture of a couple of girls in her class, Delilia & Taylor, dressed up.

Swim Lessons

We started swim lessons for the girls last night. It runs for 2 weeks every night. They are actually pretty good swimmers but I wanted to get them involved in more activities this summer. The lessons are at the park Al works at. Landree quickly moved up to the next level of swimming and Lily is the only one in her class so the individual time will be good for her to get more of the fundamentals down. Lily's favorite things to do in the pool is diving down to the bottom to retrieve something and jumping off the side. They are so fun to watch!

Twirly Skirts

Our neighbors, BJ and Liana, bought the girls new tie-dye "twirly skirts". The girls were so excited to wear them to school today. Every morning we go through the same routine.
I say, "What do you want to wear today?"
Girls, "a skirt"
I pull one out of their closet and if it doesn't have the "twirl" factor it is soon turned down. Thank goodness the new tie-dye skirts have a huge "twirl" factor.

Starting Out...

Well I am trying this "blogging" thing. My goal is to keep more of an online journal of our family. All the things that make us laugh and cry. As well as to share our days with family and friends that live far away. I encourage everyone to keep us in their favorites file and also make a blog of your own. They are really fun to read and see updated photos.
