Shakespeare in the Park

Al's mom, Ginny, came out for Lauryn's birthday party. She also stayed a little over a week to help me out. Al worked the Renaissance Fair for the county which required him to work 16 hour days and the girls were out of school. She helped a ton during the week. Laundry was done everyday and she entertained the girls. It was really wonderful! The Saturday before she left we went to have a "girls" night. We went to Lake Las Vegas and watched Macbeth and then went to Cheesecake Factory for dessert and coffee. It was a fantastic evening! The play was wonderful! I am so glad we got to spend the extra time together without the interference of Al or the girls.

This is Lady Macbeth with the witches.

Macbeth with the witches.

This lady is a customer of my mom's. We see her almost everyday so it was neat seeing her in character.

Car Show in Henderson

Our neighbor, Nick, entered his first car show so we ventured down to old Henderson to check it out. I grew up going to these so I thought the girls would get a kick out of seeing the old cars. It was stinkin hot that day, so a bit miserable.

Lauryn enjoyed riding in the wagon.

The girls were attracted to anything purple or pink. They found this bright purple car.

And a Hello Kitty truck with a surfboard.

Al checked out this pink jeep to see what he could do with his. I'm not so sure pink is his color though.

You can't have a car show without Tow Mater!

And finally Nick's car. We have watched this thing go from crap to pretty fantastic looking. It has purple ghost flames on the front that are really difficult to see but add a ton to the overall appearance.

A Steal...

Our neighbor was having a huge garage sale. Look what we came home with! He said it was only a full but we tried it on our queen and it fit! The best part is I stole it from him for $20. It is in perfect condition! The room has now become Landree's. Lily and Lauryn are sleeping in the bunk beds. Landree loves her big bed. I think she secretly feels like a princess. In the near future we plan to paint over all the pink since she now hates pink. She wants purple walls. I'm always up for a design challenge!

Lauryn's 2nd Birthday

Lauryn's birthday fell on a Friday so we took all the girls to Chuck-e-Cheese's for dinner and fun.

Lauryn ran around like a crazy woman. Her favorite part was just putting the coins in the machine. So I'm sure she wasted a bunch of tokens just feeding away.

Yummy Cupcakes!

Grandma and PaPa got her a crazy Dora guitar. She loved it.

Yep, I'm Still HERE

I can't believe it's been a month in a half since my last post! Geeminy Gatts!
It's NOT because I haven't had anything to say.

Here's a glimpse at my last month...
Lauryn's 2nd Bday
Grandma Ginny visits
Megan, Olivia and Sophie Visits
Girls started fall softball
Landree joins cheer squad
Landree and Lily in gymnastics
Harvest Festival
Trip to St. George
Al works the Ren Fair
Landree went to Girl Scout Camp

and it goes on and on and on... So why haven't I been able to blog? In between being busier at work (yah!) and busy at other jobs (AKA, House Cleaner, Mother, Wife, Chauffeur, Volunteer, Friend...not that I don't enjoy them more than my actual job(s)) I just plain haven't made the time. So there you have it! Hopefully soon folks (if there are even "folks" out there who read this). But again this is more for me and the girls.

Because I hardly ever do a post without a picture...

See they are still growing!

Final Day in Kansas

Our final day in Kansas was spent in Manhattan. We went up to Ronna and Galen's Saturday night for some adult frolicking. Ronna had arranged a couple of babysitters and the adults were off! We had dinner at Kite's and then went to Ronna's sisters bar The Little Grill. We got home and Landree and Lily were still awake. Ronna had bought a whole bunch of glow sticks, necklaces and straws for the kids at the wedding but forgot to pull them out. The girls had a blast covering themselves in the glow sticks. Obviously, I haven't figured out how to get a good "glowing" picture at night!

Sunday morning Ronna picked up McDonald's (the girls' fav) and met us at the city park.

Thanks Ronna and Galen for having the girls involved in your special day! We love you guys!
