Lauryn's First Doctor Appointment

I took Lauryn to her first doctors appointment on Monday. She was 8 pounds 8 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. The shocking part to me is she grew an inch and a half. She no longer looks like my little newborn but looks like a baby. Initially we all thought she looked a lot like Lily when she was a born but her features are starting to become her own. So far she has been so good. We are lucky. At the hospital a nurse happened to point out that she thought she was "tongue-tied". Meaning the tip of her tongue was "tied" down to the bottom of her mouth. She said it would make nursing difficult. Well she was a bit tongue tied when I took her to the doctor and he just snipped it right off. Lauryn didn't even cry and maybe bled 2 drops. Now I don't have to worry about the nursing difficulties or her developing a lisp. How dreadful would that be! (I am sure there are far worse things, but I am thankful no lisp!)

Al is still off running in the mountains on the search for a deer. As far as I know no one in the group has actually captured one. Al shot one Sunday and lost it's track through a creek/river. Big bummer for him. I haven't talked to him since Tuesday. The girls and I are missing him like crazy.
